At Sounds and Furs Therapy Services, LLC, therapy is not meant to feel cold, clinical, or one-size-fits-all. My hope is that when you walk into this space, you feel a little more at ease, a little more understood, and a little less alone.
I provide compassionate, client-centered therapy for individuals navigating trauma and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, emotional regulation struggles, life stressors, and the many messy, complicated parts of being human.
Sounds and Furs is currently a one-woman practice. I’m Christina, and I bring experience in trauma therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sound Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. But more than anything, I try to meet each person where they are. Therapy with me is not cookie-cutter. We may talk, process, practice coping skills, use creativity, incorporate grounding or mindfulness, work with the bunnies, explore sound therapy, or simply slow things down enough for your nervous system to breathe.
My goal is to provide care that is ethical, effective, and rooted in what you actually need—not just what a textbook says should happen.
Healing does not always happen by sitting still and talking across a room. For some people, therapy feels more accessible when it includes movement, creativity, animals, nature, sound, or sensory experiences.
At Sounds and Furs, I blend traditional therapy with experiential approaches that can help support emotional safety, connection, nervous system regulation, and personal growth.
Animal-Assisted Therapy can help build trust, comfort, emotional safety, and connection in a way that feels gentle and natural.
My little fur loves—Teddy, Cocoa, Oreo, and Sophie—are still young and currently growing into their roles as therapy bunnies, or as I like to call them, TheraBuns. You may get to spend time with them during sessions while also watching them learn, grow, and develop their own little personalities.
Because they are still babies, they come with baby bunny behaviors. They are still working on potty training, confidence, and manners. Sometimes that means shyness, nipping, scratching, or other immature bunny behaviors. Bunnies are also fragile animals and need to be handled with extra care.
Their safety matters too. If a bunny becomes overwhelmed or if an interaction is not safe for them, they will be removed from the situation. Therapy animals deserve respect, gentleness, and protection just like the humans in the room.
Sound therapy is one of the ways we can help the body and mind slow down.
Music and sound can connect us to emotions, memories, and parts of ourselves that are sometimes hard to reach with words alone. Sound can help us relax, process, release tension, or feel more balanced when life has us feeling scattered, heavy, or stuck.
I often think of it as a “tune-up” for the body and mind. Just like a car sometimes needs to go into the garage, we also need spaces where we can pause, reset, and come back to ourselves.
Sound therapy is not connected to one specific religion or belief system. It is simply another way to support relaxation, regulation, reflection, and healing.
Garden therapy will offer another way to connect with nature, mindfulness, grounding, and growth.
Sometimes healing happens best when our hands are in the dirt, our body is moving, and we are reminded that growth can happen slowly, gently, and in its own season.
You do not have to feel like just another appointment on the schedule or just a paycheck to your therapist. I care deeply about the people I work with, and I try to show up as a real person while still providing professional, ethical care.
I am an out-of-the-box thinker. If you are looking for very formal, scripted, cookie-cutter therapy, I may not be the right fit for you. But if you are looking for someone who works from the heart, thinks creatively, and is willing to meet you where you are, this may be a good place to start.
I work with people from all different backgrounds and life experiences. You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can start right where you are.
Insurance can be confusing, and I’m happy to help verify what I can.
At this time, I am able to accept certain Highmark plans, Medicaid, and Medicare for individuals located in Cumberland, Perry, York, Dauphin, and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania. Please reach out for insurance verification so we can check your specific plan.
I also offer a sliding scale option for those who complete a financial assistance application.
I currently have openings available and would be honored to talk with you about whether Sounds and Furs Therapy Services may be a good fit for your needs.
